New Videos Added

I added some good female swordfights to the Video Library. "Amazons:  Hell Hath No Fury" is a battle between women warriors and pirates.  Next, a rare find, is "Camilla's Last Charge", a video clip from "The Last Glory Of Troy" depicting Queen Camilla's heroic charge against the Trojan invaders of Italia. "Broadsword Stage Fight" is a rehearsal duel but very realistic. "Burial Of The Rats" has a fantastic saber duel between a small number of women defenders against an army of male invaders. I also added the Brittany Spears Gladiatrix clip from her Pepsi commercial. Please check them out.

The last video: Amazon fight is already removed!
Do you know the Pepsi commercial? Taken tongue-in-cheek, one can appreciate the gladiatrices.

Thanks for letting me know that "Amazon Fight" was removed from You Tube. I must have missed that one and I deleted the link from the Video Library. I just added the gladiatrix clip from the Brittany Spears Pepsi commercial to the library. I thought that I had it, but apparantly I didn't so big thanks on letting me know. I hope that you enjoy the new videos. I'm always on the look-out for new ones.

Is a quasi-medieval fantasy setting too late for your blog? The 'Legend of the Seeker' TV series was so-so, but season 2 had two redeeming characters, Mother Confessor and other Confessor Cara Mason the Mord-Sith. The only two characters with some psychological depth (specially Cara), and the evolution of their relationship from mistrust / hatred to friendship is imho the most interesting element of the season. Now, these two are tremendous fighters, and when fighting as a team offer memorable scenes.
A lot of fan videos (with unsolicited musical background!) on YouTube are devoted to this pair, but generally from an hypothetical 'Xena - Gabrielle' point of view. A few nonetheless put the emphasis on battle scenes, e.g. (the title being that of the background song): Church, This blood, Women on a mission. I found only one (non musical, to boot) video devoted to one of the fighting scenes of the series.

I've always wanted to add a fighting scene from Legend Of The Seeker, which I dearly loved, but could never find one with women using swords. If you can recommend one to me, I'll check it out. One problem with uploading anything from LOS is copyright. There are few authentic LOS clips as the TV trolls are always ratting you to You Tube if you try uploading any, so they use the Xena/Gabrielle point of view and it just doesn't look good.

As a rule women don't use swords in LotS: Confessors have daggers, Mord-Siths have agiels and Sisters have dacras! The only two scenes I know are 2/13 when Kahlan throws a sword to unarmed Cara (very short, very atypical, given Caras' princess costume!) and *chiefly* the good fight scene in 2/08 when Kalhan wields the sword of truth. This last is the subject of the best scene ever and Kahlan and Cara: The Fight videos (both posted 2 years ago and still there).

I decided to add that "Best Scene Ever" from LOS to my video library. It's labeled as Legend Of Seeker. Thanks for your suggestion. I hope that you have time to view all of my videos as it's quite a collection. And, if you like short stories, I have a library of exciting Amazon stories.

I really enjoy your collection!
What about Brunnhild, THE warrior queen? Kristanna Loken was more than convincing; this musical video is low-res. but offers a compilation of the best fighting scenes, including the beheading of Hagen.

Good-looking Pict warrioresses in Centurion, but not much to see in the trailer.

Even Snow White is turning swordmaiden, seemingly?

Morgause is a fighter-sorceress in the 'Merlin' TV series, too bad I can't find a good video, I really like Emilia Fox :-)

No female warrior in 'The Game of Thrones'?

And then, there is Eowyn, of course, but she is never shown fighting except against the Sorcerer-King. Like Arwen (in the movie), more of a motivated amateur than a real fighter.

Did not see 'The 3 Musketeers 3D' yet: Milla Jovovich as Milady de Winter / 'Resident Evil Alice in the 17th C.' can be really enjoyable!

Hi, thanks for more suggestions. I don't have a clip for Brunhilde, tough to find, so I decided to use your suggestion. I already have some clips on female Pict warriors so check them out.

"Wolfy's Howl" Blog News

I recently switched from cable Net to DSL Net so I lost my access to my previous ISP's FTP server. Therefore, as my photo-stories and short-story libraries were hosted on the FTP server, I had to delete both libraries. I hope that most of you had a chance to read these stories. Sadly, I haven't found a way to put them back on the blog.

*** BIG PROBLEM:

One of my biggest problems with art collecting is authors not signing their work. While I sometimes use unsigned art, I also would like to give the artist credit. So, if anybody thinks they know the artist of any unknown picture here, please leave me a comment on any of my posts. Thanks.

Thanks to everybody for making the blog a success.

Gladiatrix

Gladiatrix
Artist: White Coma

A Gladiatrix Speaks Out:

"[Men tell women it's not ladylike to wield a sword.] Well, ever the man in men! Let a woman know her place: let her milk and spin and sew and bake and bear children, not look upon her threshold or the command of her lord and master! Bah! I spit on you all!

There is no man alive who can face me with weapons and live, and before I die, I'll prove it to the world. Women! Cows! Slaves! Whimpering, cringing serfs, crouching to blows ...

Ha! You deny me a place among men? By God, I'll live as I please and die as God wills, but if I'm not fit to be a man's comrade, at least I'll be no man's mistress."
