World Of Women Warriors video IS BACK

My popular "World Of Women Warriors" video was blocked by You Tube for months due the Net Nazis concerned about the copyrighted music that I used on it.  Finally, after I filed the second request to allow the music under the "Fair Use" provision of the U.S. Copyright Law, You Tube finally received permission to unblock it.  You will find this video in my video library.  If you haven't seen it, I invite you to view it as it was one of my best.

Pict Female Warrior Fights Roman Officer

I just uploaded a You Tube clip from the movie "Centurion" that depicts a duel between a Pict female warrior, fighting with a spear, against a captured Roman officer with a sword and armour.  I placed in my Video Library under "Centurion". Hope you like it as female Pict warrior videos are a rarity.

New Videos Added

I added some good female swordfights to the Video Library. "Amazons:  Hell Hath No Fury" is a battle between women warriors and pirates.  Next, a rare find, is "Camilla's Last Charge", a video clip from "The Last Glory Of Troy" depicting Queen Camilla's heroic charge against the Trojan invaders of Italia. "Broadsword Stage Fight" is a rehearsal duel but very realistic. "Burial Of The Rats" has a fantastic saber duel between a small number of women defenders against an army of male invaders. I also added the Brittany Spears Gladiatrix clip from her Pepsi commercial. Please check them out.

Jungle Women Sword Fight

I just uploaded "Jungle Women Sword Fight" clip from You Tube.  It's a tough one to find there, so enjoy it by clicking this post's title.  I also added it to my Video Library, along with some others.  This clip, from some unknown foreign movie, depicts two jungle Amazons dueling with swords that look like Roman long swords.  Their fencing technique is above average and they look like they want to kill each other for some unexplanined reason.  The only sad thing is that the uploader clipped the video too short so we don't see the ending.

Roma Victrix: book trailer video

Gladiatrix Lysandra is back with author Russell Whitfield's new book, "Roma Victrix".  The valiant lady battles a whole host of viscious women with a variety of weapons.  I'm hoping to get a copy of the book from Amazon.  In the mean time, please enjoy the video clip advertising his book.  You may click this post's title to jump to the You Tube video.  I have also placed the video in my video library under Roma Victrix.

Female U.S. Marines In Combat

I just learned that the U.S. Marines have fielded their first battalion of women warriors to serve in Afganistan. Click this post's title to jump to the photo-story about the fighting ladies of the First Regiment, Eighth Battalion, Second Combat Team. Their jobs range from combat patrols, engaging suicide bombers, and working with translators. They also have a female Navy Corpsmen with them. Check out slide six to see if you can spot which of the three women is the "Devil Doc" (slang for Navy Corpsman with the Fleet Marines).

As a former "Devil Doc" with the "Devil Dogs" (slang for Marines in combat) in Vietnam, I salute these brave women who serve our country. The Marines would never field women in combat if they weren't confident these gals could do their jobs. Just more proof that women can and do fight just like the guys.

Gladiatrix Fight Video

Here's another video from an English historical reenactment club that did a gladiatrix fight. It's a duel between two women, one with a sword and shield and the other with a staff only. Stick Fighters Video

This video is one of the most accurate and exciting portrayals of two women, trained in martial arts, using the fighting stick in combat. While it's not bloody or fatal, it's quite enjoyable and you'll learn a few things about the advantage of using a fighting stick to defend yourself.

Red Sonja Delivering Justice

Misogynists may believe that women are only suitable for breeding and slaving over men ... until they encounter Red Sonja. When men are cruel to women, she's the pointy end of the sword when dealing these thugs justice. I've honored this heroic fictional heroine by displaying an incredible cover art of her at the top of the blog.

I used to teach a self-defense course for women and my motto was "Never Be A Victim". Ladies: be all that you can and if anybody messes with you, kick their butts!

"Amazon Mass Battle" artwork

I just uploaded a brand-new and rare "Amazon Mass Battle" render by artist Tom Watson. This work depicts a battle between two groups of Amazons, one a priestess order and the other a warrior caste. The artist drew 20 panels to create it, but you should click this post's title to enjoy it in full screen or you will miss some details.

Gladiatrix documentary video

If you didn't watch the documentary about ancient Roman gladiatrices that Lucy Lawless narrated on The History Channel, then please click this post's title to see some of the video. It also has some cool music. The video was produced as a student's project, is a bit jerky, but still enjoyable and you'll learn something about these fierce women warriors. Amazon Fights: music video

Happy New Year! As a special treat, I have just uploaded a fantastic music video, produced in Russia, that depicts women warriors in a variety of duels. The production has top-notch costumes, weapons, and fight choreography. This a stage production, not film, and I hope to get more videos from DEAvision1.

Phoenix The Warrior: gladiatrix fights

"Phonnix The Warrior" wasn't the most fantastic of women warrior movies, but it was typcial of the 1970-80's futuristic Amazon movie. For those who love gladiatrix combats, please click the title to see Phoenix fighting a few gladiatrices. Not the finest example of female combat, but entertaining.

"Lost World" gladiatrix fights

Here's an exciting You Tube movie clip from "The Lost World", starring Veronica Marguerite. It depicts Amazons dueling with swords and even has one mass battle. It's non-lethal, but their fencing is not bad. Weapons and armor are spot-on for this sort of thing. Please click post's title to jump to link. I've also placed it in my video library here. Gladiatrix Fight Video

Here's a short You Tube video from an acting conservatory where two actresses perform as gladiatrices. Their swordfight is brief but they put on an interesting show and it ends with one dying bravely. I wish they had worn more classical armor, but their swords looked like they were made well. "Valkyries Art" video

Please enjoy my latest video, "Valkyries Art", which I just uploaded to "You Tube." Seventeen fantastic pictures of these Norse, women warriors from Scandinavian mythology. The Valkyries were daughters of Odin who swooped down on battlefields, selected the bravest slain fighters, and conveyed them on winged horses to Valhalla. These ladies were truly the "The Choosers Of The Slain". Background music is "The Flight Of The Valkryies" by Richard Wagner.

"War Goddess" (1974) Amazons vs Greeks video clip

I found the "War Goddess" (1974) video clip, while searching my videos that I've backed up, that was deleted from You Tube. This clip depicts the famous battle between Queen Antiope's Amazon cavalry and King Theseus's Greek army who's holding her captive. "War Goddess" is the English dubbed, Italian version of "The Amazons", released to U.S. audiences the same year.

Directed by Terrence Young, of "Star Wars" fame, "War Goddess" features several action clips depicting Amazon life and combat. My favorite is this clip as it shows Amazons wearing period costumes, with authentic weapons, using good horsewomanship, and excellent fight scenes.
